VilCap Advisory was established for the principal purpose of investing in early-stage enterprises around the world that strive to make a positive social and/or environmental impact. These investments will be exclusively sourced through the peer-selection process of acceleration programs operated by VilCap, Inc., a non-profit organization (www.vilcap.com) that is dedicated to building the capacity of early-stage enterprises focused on making a positive social and/or environmental impact.
Since 2009, Village Capital has operated business training programs for entrepreneurs worldwide, all of whom are selected based on their focus on addressing economic inequality, contributing to poverty alleviation and/or addressing energy and environmental sustainability challenges. VilCap Advisory believes that (i) entrepreneurs—those closest to addressing major challenges—are best equipped to identify the most promising solutions to global social and environmental problems, and (ii) by investing in ventures sourced through the peer-selection process of Village Capital programs, the fund will be catalytic in enabling a broad range of impactful innovations by such entrepreneurs.
