Description

The two general partners of Rethink Education, Matt Greenfield and Rick Segal, came together following the Series A financing of a company, Rethink Autism, that has since been contributed to the Fund’s portfolio. Rick and Matt had both invested separately in Wireless Generation, one of the highest profile exits in Education Technology venture investing, and following its acquisition by NewsCorp in 2010, both Rick and Matt began fielding inquiries from institutional players about formalizing a partnership around venture investing in the Education Technology space. Both Rick and Matt have long been passionate about education – Matt being a former English professor at Bowdoin College and CUNY, and Rick coming from a family of educators and philanthropists – so the partnership was a natural fit. The general partners, with their unique insight in the Ed-Tech space, recognize a serious opportunity for disrupted and positive change in the form of a revolution in the way we educate our children and workforce.
