Oltre Gestioni had its rise in the experience of Oltre Foundation which is the first Italian venture philanthropy foundation. It has been set up in 2002 by Luciano Balbo, with the aim to strengthen and support social projects through economical, organizational and strategic contribution. Moreover Luciano Balbo is one of the co-founder and board member of European Venture Philantropy Association. Oltre Foundation has not merely allocated funds but it has always partnered with financed companies, by taking part in the definition of objectives, strategies and by providing organizational support. Thanks to this approach, the management team of Oltre Foundation deeply understood the social needs, the public policies and the social sector on the whole. In 2006, thanks to experience gained through the activities of Oltre Foundation was possible to set Oltre Gestioni s.r.l.. which is run by Luciano Balbo and is the fund manager of Oltre Venture, the first Italian impact investing fund. Oltre Venture is a Partnerships Limited by Shares with its unlimited partner Oltre Gestioni s.r.l. Oltre Venture has a fund structure defined through the shareholders’ agreements.
