Tom spent over 25 years practising tax law, earning his way to Senior Partner at Thorsteinssons LLP, the leading tax law boutique in Canada. This included a term as the Managing Partner. Tom was regularly recognized as a Canadian leader in the field of tax controversies, working with high profile clients and dealing with high value, complex transactions. He joined Active Impact as a Partner in early 2018 and now provides his expertise on evaluating portfolio opportunities, legal matters, raising capital and anything else that can increase impact in the portfolio and financial returns for our investors. Tom was motivated to make this career change by his desire to facilitate the achievement of meaningful impact while earning strong financial returns for values aligned investors.
