Fund geography
The VIC Venture Fund ("VVF") is a first time fund that follows on 10+ years of VIC Technology Venture Development ("VIC") investments in early stage companies that focus on disease prevention, diagnostics, and treatment with impact themes and IRIS metrics focused on those who otherwise would not have access. Each of the partners has better than 20 years investment experience in private equity, venture capital, public markets, hedge funds, and entrepreneurial ventures.
VVF maintains a competitive advantage and solves the challenges of effective impact investing by operating as part of an innovative, complete venture development ecosystem. Many VC firms, family offices, and individuals do not have the time, resources, knowledge, or team to screen a large number of technologies and determine which have the greatest likely impact plus commercial opportunity. VVF is part of a complete venture development ecosystem sourcing innovative technologies from over $65 billion federally sponsored university R&D. VVF has a science and engineering knowledge base and network to better evaluate and commercialize impact technologies.
VVF fund managers have deep experience with patents, product development, operations, sales/marketing, finance and leveraging non-dilutive government funds, to help portfolio companies achieve success. VIC is sourcing over 1500 investment opportunities per year and has 15 companies in the portfolio.

Financial description
The fund intends to invest in companies using preferred or common equity. Each company will have a major milestone expectation within 12 months and a path to exit within 5-10 years. The fund will also work with portfolio companies to access grant equity from government and other entities.
The fund will invest in intellectual property based companies at the pre-revenue stage. Most venture capital funds investing in these types of companies invest at the post-revenue stage. Lack of investor competition is expected to allow the fund to negotiate excellent investment terms that could lead to higher returns.
