The Impact Investment Holding Fund (IIH) is a venture fund managed by ennovent GmbH founded in 2008 in Austria with an office in India. The IIH is an investment holding that offers a unique opportunity to make a sustainable impact at the base of economic pyramid (BoP) in India while generating financial returns for investors.

The investment strategy is to transform early-stage enterprises into professional, efficient and scalable organizations by providing capital and by adding value. The majority of funds will be allocated to our core sectors – food, energy, health, water and education. The average ticket size for a first seed investment is €50k with a potential of a €250k follow-up around.

Financial description

The average investment up to EUR 300k per company over several tranches, with a total of 10-15 portfolio companies anticipated for the fund. We will acquire influential minority equity stakes including a board seat using equity and quasi-equity instruments, but do not leverage through debt. The majority of funds will be allocated to our core sectors: food, energy, health, water and education with disproportionate impact on sustainability at the BoP. As required, the fund will work with aligned funds and partners to co-invest, share and mitigate risk.
