Fledge, the conscious company accelerator & seed funds

Fledge is the conscious company accelerator and family of seed funds, investing in mission-driven, for-profit startups from around the world. We operate in multiple cities around the world, inviting seven companies per session, investing a modicum in each, then investing more in the best of those companies as well as seeking co-investors to join us.

Founded in 2012, by the end of 2017 Fledge has worked with 82 companies based in 22 countries, operating eleven session in total in Seattle, Lima, and Barcelona. Two additional cities are lined up for 2018 and more are expected each year.

The accelerator investments take the form of revenue-based equity, returning capital from future revenues, without waiting for exits. Follow-on investments take a variety of forms including revenue-based equity, revenue-based debt, convertible debt and equity.

Investors can allocate their capital into specific funds which match their interests by stage, geography, and/or sector.

Financial description

Fledge is a business accelerator. The service works like this:
• Entrepreneurs from around the world, seeking help, apply
• Multiple times per year (once per city), we invite 7 of these applicants into our 10-week program
• Each team is provided $15,000-$20,000 in cash, and invited to one of our cities
• For 10 weeks, we provide a daily, intense program of education, advice, mentorship, and more
• At the end of the program, we put our fledglings up on stage to share their visions at our “Demo Day“
• Afterward, we sometimes lead follow-on rounds, sometimes we follow, and sometimes we just make introductions
In exchange for the cash and all the help, each company shares a small percentage of equity, plus a small percentage of future revenues. A true win-win, where you receive a huge boost of assistance to get your company up and running, paying nothing until you succeed.
