Impact thesis
The Fund provides specialist risk finance to formal small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The Fund actively supports entrepreneurial growth by providing financing, specialist sectoral knowledge and added-value services for viable small and medium businesses. The Fund utilsies a Technical Assistance facility, in the form of a grant, for use in support of the investments made in portfolio companies.
Business Partners International’s unique model is used to address some of the key obstacles facing entrepreneurs in Africa, namely; poor access to investment financing in order to establish or develop a self-sustaining business, little or no collateral or security, lack of access to proven due diligence methodologies, lack of post-investment technical assistance, lack of business support for long-term success and sustainability.
