Bethnal Green Ventures helps talented teams launch and scale tech for good ventures that significantly improve millions of lives and deliver great returns for investors. We believe technology changes people’s lives for the better. It can enable new products and services that improve outcomes, it can improve access to the services people need and it can reduce the costs of meeting need. We’ve built a thriving tech for good community which brings together people with an understanding of social and environmental issues with technology developers and investors. Our community has grown at 60% CAGR and now has over 5000 members, with an even wider media reach through the tech for good media platform. We’re best known for our sought-after accelerator programme which we run twice a year. We select ten start-ups per cohort, invest £20,000 in each and provide them with an intensive 12-week programme of advice and support, to rapidly develop, test and launch their business. We then make follow on investments in our most promising teams at pre-seed and seed stages alongside angel investors and early-stage funds. We provide lifelong support to our portfolio from our team, and through our alumni and mentor networks that comprise over 300 technical, sector and business experts.

Impact thesis
Direct impact: we invest in start-up ventures who are developing innovative products and services with the potential for significant positive effects for users, society and the environment. We focus on outcomes in four domains: education, healthcare, sustainability and civic engagement. We invest in companies with the potential to benefit more than 1m people.
Systemic impact: Increase recognition of the opportunity and benefits of using technology for social and environmental impact (we call this tech for good), to increase demand for tech for good investments, and to increase the number and diversity of people working in tech for good.
We achieve these impacts by: providing the money, advice and tools high potential ventures need to succeed; and growing our tech for good community of diverse people developing, supporting and investing in tech for good ventures
