Tier 1 Generation, LLC, a special purpose affiliate of The Gemstone Group, will be the manager of this fund. Gemstone (www.thegemstonegroup.com) has been in business since 1993 and has been engaged in renewable energy and energy efficiency finance since 2002.
Gemstone has embarked on raising a renewable and energy efficiency related project finance income fund. As an income fund, the capital raised will be invested in debt type investments in the US and return P&I quarterly throughout the fund life. Gemstone believes investors can acheive a 7%+ return, after fees and expenses.
The genesis of this fund is the significant need for upfront capital in the residential, small business and middle market commercial markets in order to make important energy saving improvements. Traditional investors are very effectively serving the larger market segments; however these sources of capital are not serving the smaller market segment and, together, we want to be financial leaders to stimulate family economic development, job growth, energy savings, and cleaner energy without sacrificing investor returns.
