Description

Envest Microfinance Fund, LLC (Envest LLC) raises funds via securities issuances, and the proceeds are lent to microfinance institutions (MFIs) in developing countries. The MFIs use the funds to provide loans to low-income borrowers who have little or no access to credit. It is estimated that 80% of low-income residents of developing countries lack access to credit. Envest LLC strives to shift the emphasis of microfinance capital from donations to capital markets, thus strengthening the sustainability of microfinance.
