Description

Bridge is a socially motivated investment company that invests in and transforms rural banks in SE Asia.
Bridge invests equity with 35% to 60% stakes and, having invested, provides capability building and central services to its ‘Partner Banks’, accelerating growth in a socially and environmentally sensitive manner.
In 2013 Bridge raised $24.2m (P1bn) from FMO, DEG, Accion, Bamboo and the Principals. Its first investments have been successful: it is on track to achieve 19% USD IRR (Gross of fees) and it has converted 2 banks from being salary loan focus into being Agri, SME and micro-finance focused.
Bridge is now raising additional funds to expand its model to Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Myanmar.
