Linn Grove Ventures (LGV) believes that there is an excellent opportunity for great investment returns at the exciting collision of health, agriculture, food, and nutrition markets. The team will manage one of the largest funds in this space, bringing a truly unique approach, which will create new and innovative companies that provide healthy products focused on health and wellness. The manager believes that the projected increase in global demand for food (especially animal protein),constraints on productive land availability, increasing costs of health care, negative health trends of both developed and emerging markets, and increased regulatory scrutiny of agriculture are all significant factors creating unmet market need which the Mid-Continent region (US and Canada) is best prepared to meet through innovation.
Ultimately, market forces and new regulations will force food and nutrition companies to innovate around healthier inputs to help prevent disease. This creates a great opportunity for superior returns.
Linn Grove Growth Funds will implement an investment strategy of financing primarily life science opportunities where the manager believes it has significant advantages and add extensive value (likely operating or board expertise). Opportunities include product, service and technology companies in important health and wellness market sectors such as agriculture, nutrition, and food safety.

Impact thesis
LGV will invest in innovation that improves the production and safety of food, as agriculture moves to feed 9 billion people, and innovation to improve health outcomes, as health care, which has become unaffordable, looks to inputs to reduce obesity, diabetes, gluten intolerance. Healthier traits in food crops, technology to improve food safety, technology to improve production, and innovation based on innovative research in understanding human metabolism, provide an opportunity to invest in sustainable opportunities to directly and measurably improve the human condition. Outcomes will include job creation in the Mid-Continent, providing capital in an underserved market, helathier and sustainable ag inputs, and solutions for emerging markets in agriculture and nutrition.
